Our team is aware of the latest vulnerability, Log4Shell, which is being tracked as CVE-2021-44228. Log4Shell is a critical vulnerability that’s affecting a Java logging package, log4j.
Log4j is used in a large number of software, online games, and platforms, including Apple iCloud, Minecraft, Amazon, Twitter, Google and many others. It is considered a zero-day vulnerability, given the name because organizations are given zero days to patch their systems. It is such a critical vulnerability because attackers have to ability to remotely take full control over a system without interacting with the victim. With this particular vulnerability, the fear is that ransomware is not far behind.
