Intuit QuickBooks Scam

June 16, 2022 9:37 am

If you are a QuickBooks user, you should be aware of an Intuit subscription scam that has been circulating for quite a while now.

Who is the target?
This scam specifically targets QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online subscribers.

What do the scammers do?
The scammers will pose as a fake Intuit agent and will attempt to reach you by phone (either a voice call or text message).  Once they get in touch with you, they will tell you that your subscription is about to expire and you need to make a renewal payment.  They accept payment over the phone or wire transfer.  Although convincing, this is a scam!

What should you do?
It’s important to keep in mind that Intuit, like many other reliable companies, will never call you and ask for a renewal payment.  You should never  give your payment information, credit card number, or anything else confidential to anyone over the phone.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding any specific accounts online, the best thing to do is reach out directly to your account manager.

Other Intuit scams to be aware of:
– Emails claiming to notify you of emergency security updates
– Emails about supposed pricing discounts
– Emails asking for fake Invoice payments
