Samantha Gonchar is Darrin and Kelly’s youngest daughter, and is the final letter to finish out the CATS name. She is 12 years old and just began her 7th grade year in middle school. Anyone who knows her would describe her as a very kind, friendly, and quiet person, as well as one of the sweetest people they’ve ever known.
Sam’s biggest interest is anything that has to do with sports. She loves the aspect of being on a team, and puts a lot of dedication and hard work into every practice and game. She has been a member of the Monroe Thunder Softball Traveling Team for the last 4 years. This past summer, the team qualified for Nationals in Michigan! It was such a huge accomplishment, especially since this was the first time a team in Central Jersey has ever made it as far as Nationals.
Sam just earned a spot on her middle school field hockey team, and is looking forward to being involved in a new sport. Although she is taking on a new challenge, she is very excited to still be a part of the Monroe Thunder Softball Traveling Team year-round.
On the softball field, Sam goes by the nickname “Sammy G” and represents #4 on her jersey. This past summer, CATS had the opportunity to sponsor one of Casino Pier’s go karts on the Seaside Boardwalk. The CATS logo was plastered all over go kart #4, for Sammy G!
In her free time, Sam loves being with her friends and spending her summers out on her family’s jet skis. She also enjoys spending time with her cat, Hazel. Halloween is her favorite holiday and she loves everything about it, especially getting into the spirit by dressing up.
