our Story

The name CATS represents who we are both as a technology company and as a family. While the acronym reflects our identity as a full-service managed IT provider, its meaning goes much deeper. CATS was inspired by the four daughters of owners Darrin and Kelly: Caitlin, Amanda, Taylor, and Samantha.

 

That personal connection has remained part of the company’s identity as CATS has grown. What began with a family-inspired name has developed into a team built around many of the same values, trust, reliability, commitment, and looking out for the people who depend on us.

 

Today, those values influence the way we approach our relationships with both our clients and our team. Technology may be at the center of what we do, but CATS has always been about people first. We believe the strongest partnerships are built through personal service, open communication, and being there when our clients need us.

Darrin Gonchar

Owner & Founder

As the proud owner and founder of CATS Technology Solutions Group, Darrin Gonchar brings more than 30 years of experience in the Information Technology industry. His vision, leadership, and commitment to innovation have helped transform CATS from a family-founded business into a nationally recognized Managed Service Provider.

 

Throughout the company’s growth, Darrin has remained focused on providing clients with forward-thinking technology solutions while continuously improving the policies, processes, and services that help protect their businesses. Under his leadership, CATS has earned national recognition within the IT industry, including being ranked #11 on the MSP 501 list of top Managed Service Providers worldwide.

 

 

But for Darrin, CATS has always represented something much more personal than technology.

 

Family has been at the heart of the company from the very beginning. The name CATS was inspired by Darrin and his wife Kelly’s four daughters Caitlin, Amanda, Taylor, and Samantha,  making his family a permanent part of the company’s identity. Those strong family values have helped shape the culture Darrin has worked to build over the years: one centered around trust, loyalty, hard work, and genuinely caring for the people around you.

 

Darrin has carried those same values into the relationships CATS builds with its employees and clients. He believes that great business relationships should extend beyond providing a service. They should be built on knowing the people you work with, understanding what matters to them, and being someone they can depend

Sharon Vento

Director of Administration

Sharon is a highly accomplished professional with a wealth of experience in the administrative field spanning over three decades. In 1990, she earned her Associates of Arts degree from the College of Staten Island, complemented by a certification from the esteemed Computer Institute of Technology in the same year.

 

Her career journey began at the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) in 1990, where she initially served as a receptionist. Due to her exceptional skills and dedication, Sharon swiftly climbed the corporate ladder, ultimately attaining the position of Assistant to the Vice President of Clearing Operations within the Clearing Department. Her tenure at NYMEX was marked by numerous achievements and noteworthy contributions.

 

Throughout her career, Sharon has consistently demonstrated a commitment to professional development, acquiring diverse certifications in areas ranging from Human Resources to Office Management. In 2005, she transitioned to CATS Technology Solutions Group, embarking on a new chapter in her career.

 

Currently serving as the Director of Administration at CATS Technology Solutions Group, Sharon plays a pivotal role in overseeing comprehensive office management. Her responsibilities encompass a wide spectrum, including human resources, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. Sharon’s strategic leadership and meticulous approach contribute significantly to the efficient functioning of the organization.

 

With a proven track record of success and a multifaceted skill set, Sharon stands out as a dedicated professional with a profound understanding of administrative operations. Her journey exemplifies a trajectory of continuous growth and achievement within the dynamic landscape of office management and administration.

Nuno Nogueria

Director of Technology

Nuno brings over 22 years of experience across cybersecurity, cloud architecture, networking, and enterprise IT operations. Earning an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1997, helped shape his analytical approach to problem-solving and systems design. That foundation helped build a career focused on delivering business value through strategic technology leadership, infrastructure modernization, and cybersecurity.

 

Throughout his career, Nuno has held a variety of technical and leadership roles that have provided him with extensive exposure to diverse technologies, hardware platforms, business environments, and operational challenges. His experience spans enterprise infrastructure, cloud transformation, Microsoft 365, cybersecurity, and identity and access management. A strong advocate for continuous learning, he holds multiple certifications across Azure, Identity & Access Management, Security, and Compliance, reflecting his deep expertise in modern IT and security.

 

As Director of Technology at CATS Technology Solutions Group, his goal is to shape and execute the organization’s IT strategy, lead infrastructure modernization initiatives, and develop high-performing teams that deliver secure, scalable, and reliable technology solutions. He is committed to driving innovation, operational excellence, and technology strategies that help organizations achieve long-term success.

 

Outside of work, Nuno enjoys spending time with his wife, Sandra, and their children, Hailey and Kooper. When they’re not relaxing on vacation and exploring new destinations, much of their time is dedicated to supporting their children’s sports. Whether attending practices, games, tournaments, or training sessions, family remains at the center of their lives. The values of teamwork, discipline, commitment, and perseverance mirror the leadership principles Nuno brings to both his professional and personal life.

Johanna Pagan

Help Desk Manager

Johanna began her administrative career in 2005 and has continued to grow professionally through a variety of administrative and leadership roles. Prior to joining CATS Technology Solutions Group, she served as Office Manager for Wellspring Center for Prevention, where she developed a strong foundation in administration, organization, team coordination, and client service. 

 

In 2018, Johanna joined CATS as an Office Assistant while also interning as a technician. This unique opportunity allowed her to gain experience on both the administrative and technical sides of the company. Over the years, she has taken on several roles within CATS, including working as a technician, which gave her firsthand experience with IT support, client needs, and the day-to-day responsibilities and challenges of the technical team. 

 

In 2025, Johanna transitioned into the role of Help Desk Coordinator, where she focused on strengthening communication, organization, ticket management, scheduling, and the overall client support experience. Her dedication to the team and continued professional growth ultimately led to her promotion to Help Desk Manager. 

 

Today, Johanna oversees Help Desk operations with a focus on teamwork, accountability, efficiency, and providing exceptional client experience. Having grown within CATS and worked on both the administrative and technical sides of the organization, she brings a well-rounded perspective to her leadership role and a strong understanding of both the team she leads and the clients they support.
