Tips and Tricks for Working Remotely

As the novel coronavirus spreads, more and more Americans are being directed to begin working remotely until further notice. Although working from the comfort of your own home can have its perks, it can still be challenging to stay focused and accomplish what you need to.

4 Tips and Tricks to Help You Stay Productive:

  1. Have a Location – Dedicate a quiet space that is used for working from home.  It’s important to be away from any distractions so you can stay on task.  Having a specific location for working will also make it easier to walk away from once you are off the clock.
  2. Have a Plan – When working alone, it can be beneficial to still keep your day structured.  Keep a daily to-do list, as well as schedule in your mandatory lunch break.  Keeping your day structured will keep you on track to be productive.
  3. Have Communication – Make it a point to stay in communication with your co-workers and boss.  Of course exchanging emails can get the job done, but phone calls, group chats, and video meetings with the entire team can be very beneficial and a good way to keep everyone on track.  Slack, Zoom and other platforms are great tools to utilize.
  4. Have Reliable Technology – It’s important to have your work space at home mirror your work space in the office.  Whether you need a wireless mouse, multiple screens or a VPN, being set up so you can work comfortably and easily from any location is key.  Investing in a reliable IT company is a simple way to get this accomplished.

With a lot of uncertainty still surrounding the current pandemic, keep in mind that CATS Technology Solutions Group is here to keep the transition to working remotely as smooth as possible for you.
