Upgrade from Windows Server 2012 & Protect Your Systems

Over the last few months, the main focus has been on the current pandemic that is still occurring all over the world. As we all know, keeping up with the current events surrounding the virus is extremely important for everyone’s well-being. Now that the country is trying to slowly get back on their feet, and as we eventually return to a somewhat normal life, we will all need to try to pick up where we left off.

Back in February, we detailed a guide on all the Windows Servers and their “end of life” dates. The Windows 2012 R2 Server is the next one to look out for, since their sales, support and monitoring, and updates will all be ending on October 10, 2023, according to Microsoft’s newly updated product lifecycle page.

Why is it highly recommended to upgrade to the newest (2019) version? Cyberattacks are always on the rise, but especially now as hackers take advantage of users still adjusting to working remotely. Having data on an unsecured version of the Windows 2012 R2 Server can cause significant risks to the security of your systems, and it can take a very long time to recover. It is not worth waiting.

Who can help you with the upgrade process? CATS Technology Solutions Group has a team of certified Cybersecurity experts who will handle upgrading the 2012 server to the 2019 server, from start to finish.

Just as we are protecting ourselves every day, remember that computers need to be protected from viruses, too.
